Ellion Magsino currently works as a Business Operations Associate for Brackens Financial Solutions Network, LLC where he is in charge of analyzing categories of operational executions for the company and managing the company website and social media interactions.
He started as a Research Intern in the summer of 2021 where he went out to investigate the current status of diversity in the financial services industry. In his research titled Gearing Up for 2045 America: The Case for Diversity in the Financial Planning Industry, he sought to determine the thoughts and opinions about diversity from two perspectives: the industry’s perspective and the prospect’s perspective. His investigation determined the current barriers to diversity, where these barriers stem from, the obstacles to overcome, and suggested solutions for increasing diversity in the wealth management field.
Currently, Ellion is pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration at the University at Albany, State University of New York. At UAlbany, he is a member of the Beta Alpha Psi Honor Society Eta Pi Chapter, and he will be serving as the organization’s Vice President of Media Relations for the school year 2023-2024.
He graduated from Onondaga Community College in May 2022 where he received an Associate of Science for Liberal Arts: Mathematics and Science as a Summa Cum Laude. While he was there, he was one of the thirteen Honors Scholar at OCC’s Lilian Slutzker Honors College and a proud member of Phi Theta Kappa. He was also a member of the OCC Foundation Board as one of the two student representatives.
Ellion was born and raised in the Southeast Asian country of the Philippines before moving to the United States in 2019. Moving to a new country opened his eyes to a new perspective in life, and it made him develop leisurely activities that are outside of his comfort zone, such as trying to learn new languages and hiking in parks.
